Aboard the U.S.S. Yorktown

Charleston is the home of the U.S.S. Yorktown – an aircraft carrier commissioned during WWII. Since my dad lived and worked on similar carriers during his time in the Navy, of course we had to go take a tour. It was actually pretty cool and I loved seeing so much history in one place.

This is my mom and I pretending we know how to operate heavy weaponry.

I learned way more about aircraft carriers than I’ll ever need to know. But the view from the deck was beautiful and made up for the 100+ degree weather.

And we saw dolphins!!!
