DIY: A Fresh Coat of Paint

It is amazing what a little paint can do for a piece of furniture. When I moved into my new apartment, my mom gave me this little vintage table to use. It was a bit run down, having been handed down to my mom when she was younger than me from someone who had it handed down to them. This table has quite a history. I took it with plans of immediately upgrading it and incorporating it into my new place. However, for the first three months, it just sat in the corner gathering dust.

After putting it off for a while, I finally went to Lowe’s; originally to buy a drill but I ended up just getting paint instead. I decided to leave the power tools to my dad. I chose a bright color to liven up that corner since I can’t paint the walls.

I originally used a paintbrush but found that a small foam roller worked much better. After two coats of Valspar’s Very Berry, I had a brand new table!

As I was taking these photos, I thought of the perfect vase filler for the ombre gray vase. A DIY post on that will be coming in the near future!
